General introduction

Founded in 1983 (under the supervision of P. Alliès), the CEPEL (South European Centre for Political Studies) carries fundamental researches in political science in the following domains:
 

• transformation of public policies;

• membership, identity and citizenship;

• political scenes and elites;

• sociology of political regimes;

• electoral sociology.
 

The CEPEL takes part in the degree program in political science of the Université de Montpellier I thanks to the involvement of all its teachers-researchers and researchers throughout the course. The CEPEL is a supporting laboratory for Master’s degrees in political science at Université de Montpellier I. Through Université de Montpellier I, the CEPEL is a member of the European Consortium of Political Research (ECPR).
